SEO Basics: The Essentials

Search Engine Optimization is the method of improving the amount and quality of site traffic by increasing both the quantity and quality of site traffic to web search engines. SEO means ‘search engine optimization‘ and contains the two terms in one. The term ‘pay per click’ was popularized in the mid-1990s and refers to an advertising method that places advertisements on search engine results pages (SERPs). SEO is a much broader field than Pay-Per-Click and is usually used for increasing site rankings in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask Jeeves.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) refers to the enhancement of unpaid traffic and/or the sale of paid placements. SEO is used in SEO marketing (web design, development, content creation, and implementation) for improving the ranking and traffic volume of any site. In SEO marketing, it is common to use pay-per-click campaigns as well as organic SEO techniques.

SEO marketing is a method of attracting targeted visitors to a particular site, via the use of keywords, phrases, tags, URL’s, meta tags, titles, URLs, and Meta descriptions. SEO marketing is one of the best ways to increase the traffic volume and visitors to a site. It also has the capability to improve the ranking in search engine results for a site. SEO marketing can also bring about the ranking of certain sites, which can be good for a company looking to expand its market.

It is easy for any user to get started with SEO but getting to this point will require an understanding of search engines, the search engines themselves, and their algorithms, and the factors affecting search engine rankings. The algorithms of search engines are designed to provide search results that are relevant to the query entered by the visitor. The result of the algorithms is the appearance of relevant sites on the search results pages (SERPS).

When a user searches for something on the internet, he enters a search phrase that is based upon the title, URL, keywords, and meta tags that are associated with that topic. Search engines will then look at the content of your website, the appearance of your meta tags, and title tags, your site’s internal linking structure, and so on to determine the relevance of your site to that search.

Keywords, when entered into the search engines, are phrases that describe the topic on which a site is related to. For example, if someone is searching for the keywords ‘tire repair’, the keywords might include ‘tires’, ‘rear tires’, ‘snow tires’, ‘recovery tires’, ‘junk tire’, ‘tire pressure’, ‘car tires’, etc. These search keywords are based upon what people commonly search for.

Meta-tags are text-based information about a site that may appear after a link or within the body of an HTML document, and they contain descriptions about the site. Meta tags have a single keyword or phrase that describes the site or the item it is related to.

Meta tags describe the keywords you are using in your website. Meta tags may also contain a description about the owner of the site or your business, your website’s domain name and web address, and other information about your business. Pay per click (PPC) advertisements are often placed within meta tags.

Search engines also consider the meta-tags of your website in the ranking algorithm. Meta tags allow a search engine to identify your website and then use the relevant keywords that are contained in your meta-tag to find your website. A site that has meta tags that contain several related keywords will appear at the top of the search engine listings when a user searches for the related keywords.

Search engines also provide different rankings to websites based upon the number of backlinks that they have. This means that a website with a high amount of backlinks has a higher chance of being found by a search engine. Backlinks are links that connect one website to another, usually a web directory. In a natural link network, websites are linked to websites that are similar to theirs.

Search engines can also be used to determine whether a website is popular. Popular websites will show up in searches more often than those that are not popular. If you need SEO, you have to use Add Marketing. Visit the home page to get started.
