How
Clear is Your Vision? by: Liane Wood
Wouldn’t it be nice to know that
there is a way to get what you want? Whether it’s in business or your personal
life, this article will clearly show you the steps you need to take to
achieve your goals.
I heard it said once that vision
without action is only a dream, but action without vision is a nightmare.
In my first article, The Road To Success - A.C.T.I.O.N., I discussed action.
So today, I’d like to discuss vision with you.
The first thing you need to do is
to establish what your vision is. In order to accomplish goals, it is very
important to be focused. To be focused, there must be something to be focused
on.
The reality is the future is coming
whether we’re ready for it or not, and those who don’t create the future
they want will have to endure the future they get.
What does your future look like?
Take some time and think about what you would like your future to look
like. Write your ideas down. Once you have some ideas to work with you
can begin developing a plan to create your future.
For example, let’s say you are currently
employed outside of your home on a full time basis and your vision is to
be able to work from home. Now that you have defined your vision it becomes
much easier to develop a plan to achieve that vision.
Part of your plan should include
research to find out if your vision is realistic or a pipe dream. So using
our example of wanting to work from home, you would begin researching options
that would provide you with an income from your home. The more research
you do, the more focused your vision will become, and the more likely you
are to succeed.
Depending on what your vision is,
you may get overwhelmed by the size of the task ahead of you. Remember
these sayings, the way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time and Rome
wasn’t built in one day.
The next step is breaking the task
down into manageable chunks that you can handle.
Completing this step is crucial.
Many people give up at this step and get lost in what I call “action avoidance
strategies”. What are action avoidance strategies? Here are a few of them:
-
Analysis Paralysis
-
Procrastination
-
Denial
-
Lack of Good Reasons to Complete the
Task
-
Fear of the Unknown
Now, once you are 70% of the way to
being ready to begin, start moving forward. If you wait until everything
is perfect to begin working towards your vision you will never start. The
other 30% will unfold as you move forward and this allows you to select,
reflect and correct your plan along the way.
Intentions + Action = Results
It’s imperative to move out of the
planning stage and into the action stage if you want to create your future
and accomplish your vision.
Get a big vision and then go after
it!!

Ways To Ignite Your Vision by: Michael Niles
Probably the hardest skill to teach,
and the one of the most vital to posess, is vision. Vision requires discipline
in order to generate images of what you would like to become, both professionally
and personally. This is an intensive process to determine which direction
you want to go, and will require a little time and effort on your part.
You can have a bad week and it is okay. Your goal for that week may be
in jeopardy, but that won't stop you from reaching your destination, your
ultimate vision or your picture of what you will be. If your vision is
to be the top salesperson in your district, for example, you will figure
out that at the present time you are not qualified to do it. The answer
would be..."what do I need to do to get qualified?". Map out specific checkpoints,
or goals, and stick with it. The bigger picture will outweigh the short
term disappoinments. The true pro knows it is just a matter of time and
preparation before they reach their destination!
1.)*V IVID- Your visions should be
so real you can touch them, and write them down. Live as if what will be,
already is!
2.)*I NSIGHTFUL- Change happens when
you have a need...either active or passive. (Have to change for health
reasons, or need to change because you just desire more)
3.)*S TRUCTURED- Vision must be put
on paper...it is virtually worthless if it is not. Something happens when
you write it down, your visions become more concrete. Roadmap checkpoints
for yourself.
4.)*I NTENSE- You cannot have a “half-hearted”
vision. Develop a positive, beautiful vision of your life, or don’t do
it at all. As Pat Riley said; “You’re either in or you’re out, there is
no in between!”
5.)*O NGOING- Persistence and determination
are the keys. Edison failed miserably many times before he succeeded.
6.)*N ECCESSARY- Change is inevitable...growth
is optional. Jim Rohn says," The good stuff in life they keep on the top
shelf. To reach it you must stand on the books you have read." Remember
that this is one the attributes that separate the pro from the average!
7.)*MOTIVATION- You must be creating
your dream or vision for the right purpose. Zig Ziglar said "If you help
enough other people get what they want, you will get what you want!"

If
You Can't See Your Way to Completing Your Goal, It's Time to Check Your
Vision by: Della Menechella
Have you been having trouble achieving
a specific goal? Are you allowing other less important things to get in
the way of accomplishing what you really want? Then this is the time to
do a VISION check. Just as it is important to get our eyes checked regularly
to assure that we will be able to see clearly, it is equally as important
to do a VISION check to be certain that our goal is on track.
Vivid Picture – Have you created
a vivid picture in your imagination as to what your completed goal will
look, feel, and sound? Have you added lots of sensory detail, paying particular
attention to what emotions you will experience when you have achieved your
goal? Many people omit this step or they make a half-hearted attempt at
it. As a result, their completed goal is not real to them so it becomes
very easy to get distracted by day-to-day events. This step takes time
and thought which is why many people don’t do it. However, if you don’t
have a clear picture in your mind as to what you are trying to accomplish,
how will you ever attain it? Developing a clear, vivid picture is critical
if you want to achieve your goal.
Inspired – Are you inspired by your
goal? Does thinking about it make you smile? If not, then go back to your
vivid picture and change it until you are excited about it. Goals take
effort. They often require that we change and do things that may be a stretch
for us. If the goal isn’t something you really want in the first place,
then why bother trying to achieve it?
When you come up with a goal, don’t
limit yourself by what you think you can accomplish. Decide what you truly
want. Many people have achieved enormous success in their lives because
they had big goals. When you are inspired enough by your dream, you will
find a way to make it a reality.
Sustained Belief – Do you have a
sustained belief that you will achieve your goal? If you really don’t expect
to accomplish your goal, then you probably won’t. Sometimes it takes extraordinary
courage to believe, in the face of all evidence to the contrary, that we
will be successful. Things go wrong. Problems come up. It is easy to get
discouraged. That is the time is when you most need to have sustained belief.
You can get through the difficult times if you believe you can. People
rise to the level of their own beliefs. When you believe you will be successful,
then you will achieve success.
Identify – Do you identify with your
goal now even though you have not yet achieved it? We must begin to identify
with the person we want to become. Once or twice each day, play the picture
of your completed goal in your mind. Live your goal in your imagination
and experience all of the wonderful emotions that go with it. As you continue
to do this, you will find that your thoughts and behaviors become more
aligned with the person you will be when you achieve your goal.
Observant – Are you observant as
to what actions that are taking you closer to your goal and those that
are moving you further away? When we create an action plan for our goal,
some of the ideas included in it will work and others won’t. After you
take a specific action, observe the result. If it is positive, then continue
to do it. If you don’t get the result you expected then modify it and try
again. By being observant about what is working and what isn’t, you can
adjust your strategy as needed so you will continue to move closer to your
goal.
Never Give Up Attitude – Have you
adopted a never give up attitude? Have you made a decision that you will
not quit no matter how long it takes to achieve your goal? If you don’t
have this attitude you might find that obstacles overwhelm you. They might
be too difficult to overcome and there is a strong likelihood that you
will quit before achieving what you want. However, when you adopt a never
give up attitude, there is a power and conviction within you that will
carry you through until you reach success.
So if your VISION is fuzzy, don’t
worry. By making a few adjustments, you will be able to clearly see your
goal to completion and experience all the joy and satisfaction that are
part of the package.

Creating
your Vision for your business, career, and Life by: BZ Riger-Hull
Many people go through their daily
lives feeling overwhelmed. There are so many things to do and there never
seems to be enough time or energy to do them all. Is this how you feel
about your business, career, or life?
Have you promised yourself that this
month you are going to make some serious changes but you just aren't sure
what those changes need to be?
Think about laying out a vision,
but make it a big vision. One that encompasses your passion in life and
the gifts you have come to share. No matter what the focus of your business
or career you have a lot to offer. You are unique and only you can contribute
your strengths in your special way. Whether it’s staying at home and raising
a family, making the best widget there is, the CEO of a company, a manager
in IT… Life is not a dress rehearsal so create your vision of what you
really want and then take inspired action steps to attract it to you.
Don’t think of creating a little
vision for your life, it’s time to stop thinking small. You will also need
to let go of the excuse that you don’t have enough time. When that comes
to mind think of this quote from Life's Little Instruction Book, compiled
by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. "Don't say you don't have enough time. You have
exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller,
Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson,
and Albert Einstein."
These are the same steps I take with
my clients to help them make the changes in focus and habit that bring
them meaningful results. First you must be willing to take action.
Without changing your focus and habits
you will never be able to change the results.
Without taking action you will never
move forward and reach the results you want. Coaching is about getting
results; listening to what the client really wants and working together,
setting out the measurable steps to be taken that result in action and
success.
You are responsible for the momentum;
it will be up to you to take the actions on your own unless you choose
to have the support, encouragement, guidance, and accountability that a
coach provides.
Without the forward momentum and
inspired actions it's just a good thought. In order for your business to
be successful, to be happy and fulfilled in your career, or prosperous
and content in your life you need to have one common thread. Vision.
The process of creation starts with
a thought, a great idea, a passionate want, or a dream of something magnificent
to achieve. These are the intangible sparks that ignite our drive to move
forward and turn the intangible into our reality.
Begin by brainstorming on paper,
yes you must write it down to bring clarity, to make it real.
The first brainstorming session should
be free flowing, don't edit your thoughts or ideas. If you are working
on your personal vision and your work vision to define what you want and
how you want to spend your time, start with the personal vision.
This will give you absolute clarity
about what is important to you, what you want, what are the things in your
life you are passionate about and that make you feel fulfilled.
Then from there you can create the
vision of your ideal business or career and take action to bring want you
really want into your life.
Focus on what you really want, be
very specific. Don't just say you want lots of money, a nice home and no
stress. Create a picture in your mind of exactly what you want down to
the color of the carpet and the list of clients, and then using words draw
that picture until your vision is clear.
For example:
I want a profitable and fulfilling
holistic health practice.
I want to see clients in three different
specialties plus passive income revenue streams.
A full successful practice will have
30-40 clients.
I will work five days a week between
noon and six devoting the rest of the day to self-care, gardening, exercising,
and spending time with family and friends.
I will make 100,000 a year and take
5 weeks vacation throughout the year.
I love to learn so I will spend 3
weeks a year in educational workshops and training programs to advance
my career and myself.
I have several tape sets, workbooks,
& learning products that fit into my personal and vision statement
providing my clients excellent value and tools that help them to get on
track with their lives.
These products are very rewarding
to me because I can make money without having to be there. Making a contribution
and improving people's lives is very important to me so this is always
something I carry out in my business practices and my community involvement.
I have redesigned my home to be bright
and airy and laid out the gardens for ease of care, and to provide color
and fragrance from my flowers and tastes and aromas from my organic vegetables.
I avoid stress by focusing on the positive and focusing my energy on the
things that are really important to me and just let the rest go.
You create what you put your energy
on. If you concentrate on all the things you don't want on all the things
you don't have enough of that is what you will create more of. Start creating
what you do want.
Start with your vision; clearly lay
out your life, career, and business vision and then take the steps to make
it your reality. One of the steps might include hiring a coach to make
it happen faster for you.

Casting
Vision by: Jeff Earlywine
One of my greatest loves as a kid
was fishing. This love developed quickly because my family owned a little
bait shop that was located near Toledo Bend Lake in Louisiana. Toledo Bend
is well known for its large bass and large quantity of crappies.
I soon found out that there is a
lot more to fishing than just catching fish. Learning to cast a fishing
lure into a tree-covered fish hole takes great skill. But casting is just
the start; you have to learn to make the lure look irresistible to the
fish below, so irresistible that an attack is inevitable.
Casting a vision for your organization
works much the same way. Over the years I have written many Footprints
and Monuments articles on the topic of vision. I have written about the
value of a vision, how to evaluate your vision, how to design your vision,
and how to write a vision statement. This article however is to help you
discover the practical process of casting a vision.
The process of casting a vision for
your organization is to:
-
Prepare your mind
-
Present an engaging question
-
Problem (challenge) identification
-
Proceed to a solution
The first step in the process of casting
a vision begins with you, the leader. The vision of your organization begins
in the crock-pot of your mind and heart. It is something that you can feel,
taste, see, hear and can literally touch with your soul. Your vision must
be greater than your past memories, mistakes, and accomplishments. It has
been said that dissatisfaction and discouragement are not caused by the
absence of things but the absence of vision. Warren Bennis was quoted saying,
“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.”
As much as we would like to skip
this step we must resist. The best way for your vision to become clear
in your mind and heart is to retreat to a quiet and tranquil place. A place
that will allow your mind to think creatively and crystallize the vision.
The next step in the process is to
engage your leadership team with a thought provoking question. A question
that will help them begin to see the vision and dream that lives in your
heart. Questions like…
-
What is one thing that our staff needs
to do their job better?
-
What actions need to be taken in order
to increase our sales and/or income?
-
What changes need to be made in order
to guarantee we accomplish our objectives?
Step three is a transition step. In
this step your leadership team will discuss in detail the challenges keeping
those questions from being answered and acted upon. Challenges such as,
why sales are not reaching predetermined goals, why customers are not returning,
or why families are suffering just as much within the church walls as they
are outside the church. Overcoming these challenges will put the organization
on the pathway to accomplishing its objectives and your vision.
The last step in this process is
to determine the solution to the above challenges. This is the step in
the process where you share your heart’s vision and get the buy-in from
your leadership team. Everyone must be convinced that the solution will
help your organization accomplish its (your) vision. It is very important
at this point to remember K.I.S.S. – Keep It Short & Simple.
The following is an example of how
these steps work together to reach the vision of an organization.
The organization in this case is
one that mentors at-risk kids in a large metro city.
-
Preparation of the mind: The vision
that lives in the heart of the leader is to reach each one of these at-risk
kids with the life changing message of Jesus Christ and to help them change
their lifestyle and learn to reach their potential.
-
Present an engaging question: Leadership
team, community leaders, and business men/women what would your life have
been like if you would have had a mentor to help you through life’s challenges
during your high school years?
-
Problem (challenge) identification:
The problem identified is the treadmill to destruction that these at-risk
kids live on. This treadmill keeps them in juvenile courts and detention
centers. It also encourages them to live their lives in the gang and punk-rock
scenes.
Proceed to a solution: The solution
is to rally the Christian community in such a way that men and women will
hunger to become trained mentors and get involved long-term to make a difference
in the lives of these at-risk kids.

I
Have A Vision by: John Delavera
I have a vision.
I know I am not that Big to have
such a vision, but this is my vision.
I want to retire of my morning job
and deal with Internet Marketing only. I like to create websites, love
to plan new products, passionate with the promotion of good products and
services, able to write html code, able to create good graphics and clipart,
able to read cgi and Perl code, able to invent things and sometimes to
predict my future.
I have this incredible vision. And
I am going to make it reality. I started working on this 10 months ago.
I had been studying and testing things for my vision since 1994. I know
am not an amateur but even if were I should have the same vision, because
I have the will to make it come true.
I have this amazing vision. And that
vision makes me feel good - even when I feel completely alone, even when
I get hate mails from people that want the easy solution for becoming 'tycoons',
or even when I fail while testing new ideas and viral marketing tactics,
even when I lose subscribers because of my mistake to send more "Alerts"
in a particular week. Do you think I don't know it? But I prefer my subscribers
to have a vision too instead of being aristocrats (believing they have
won what they didn't work for it)
My vision makes me feel good because
I realized that this vision is my vision for this 'current life'. I do
not think there will be anything else I'd like to do since only when working
for this vision I relax, feel 'completed' and satisfied - like having a
mental orgasm. My vision is what I live for and if I'll not make this vision
a reality in this life then I'd need to re-born in order to make my vision
become true in my next life - if that'd be possible.
I have a vision and I love even the
idea of having this vision. My friend Michael started calling me 'web-tycoon'
before even understanding that I have the power to implement my vision.
Michael knew me better than I knew myself. I do not know if I ever become
a memorable Internet Marketing Guru. I do not know and I do not care. I
live my vision and that's enough for me. Money is not the target; it is
the MEANS to make my vision become true.
I have a vision and work like a crazy
for it. It's my 'drug' and I don't need any cure. I am a work-o-holic,
yes but I enjoy what I am doing. Whenever I finish a project I have already
started a new one and this continues all way long. That makes me waking
up in the morning and smile, because I know I 'DID' something last night.
I ADDED something to my vision; and perhaps I am even closer to my vision.
I have this same vision for the past
4 years. I had the same vision even when I was not able to make just 1
affiliate commission. I had the same vision even when nobody knew who I
am and I had the same vision even when I was completely wrong to what I
was doing for implementing my vision. Now I know that I know nothing but
I know that everyday I am learning much more things than I did yesterday.
I have this lovely vision and am
not afraid of admitting it. I know it's difficult to quit my morning job.
I earn a lot of money by my morning job. But I am sure I'll be earning
more money when I make my vision become true. I know it because I know
that the System works and now I know How It Works. If you can earn $100
per month as an affiliate you can earn some 1000s of dollars by creating
your own product. That's the System and that's how Internet works. I love
my vision because the marketplace of the Internet is Huge. I live in a
small country but I do not care. I am a Global Citizen. I fell like an
Internet Marketer and fell like a citizen of the World.
I had this vision when no-one believed
in me. I had the same vision even when my parents, my wife of my friends
were feeling frustrated by the fact I was 'playing' so many hours with
the computer. Now I laugh and now they support me; they give me the time
I need and they feel good when I hit the keyboard like crazy because they
NOW know that means 'I am working' - for my vision.
I have this vision and sympathize
with all people that do not understand the way Internet Marketing works
and they do not want to let me teach them. I learn from others' mistakes.
I do not complain because I know I am learning something new every day.
I have a vision and my vision is
not unique. Since I started working for it, I met people that have made
reality what I want to do. And I am studying them, I copy them sometimes
and I know I follow the right trails they leave. Some people with the same
vision believe there is SECRET and they ask the Gurus to learn this secret
from them. There is a SECRET. This one: THERE IS NO SECRET. I could not
believe it but I became closer to my vision when I realized this rule,
this truth: YOU and ONLY YOU are the one that will create YOUR own life
and your future according to what YOU can do better, thus the secret is
inside YOU; just follow your heart and your mind.
I have this vision and I am writing
for it in a different language. I could never believe I'd be able to do
such a thing because I had been thinking that people would laugh at me.
That was wrong. When you know where you're going, other people allow you
to pass and they even prepare the road for you. Your very best enemy is
your inner self - no one else has the power to kill your vision. If your
inner self is your ally to your vision then you afraid of nothing.
I have a vision and I am going to
make it become true.
What's YOUR vision?
What do YOU have to say?

Forget
Dreams...Have Visions! by: S. Kumar
Do you still keep that all important
'Inner Spark Alive'? ...even 15 yrs later from college!
To me 4 steps lead to 'true arriving'.
Our success domain can be summarized in 4 simple steps.
______
Step#1 : Dream With Totally Relaxed
Freedom!
Though I said, forget Dreams what
I meant is dream with freedom in detail. Uninterrupted, free flowing and
mentally 'living it out'. Learn to dream this way!
______
Step#2 : Let Your Dreams Lead To
Visions!
Yes! Clear cut visions where you
see the complete road map. All vivid and clear. Hearing, seeing, feeling,
tasting and smelling whole picture exactly as you want it. This is what
I call focused visions.
______
Step#3 : Let Your Visions Lead To
A Physical Model!
Make a small model of your vision...just
the way an architect make miniature models of his buildings.
Or make a 'printable' model on a
piece of paper. Thorough and clear. Include everything that you want in
it.
______
Step#4 : Begin To Manifest Your Miniature
Model!
Ladies and gentlemen! Now you are
on to it!
This is the area where you come across
some practical problems. Keep focused on your miniature model - Begin tackling
the problems as and when it arises. One by one.
Forget the word determination to
release yourself from self-defeating pressures!
Instead, just be 'willing to go through'
what it takes it to be there. That is submit yourself completely to your
vision.
__________
End Result: Your success! Unadulterated
pure success!
