You must break out of this mold. The Internet has leveled the playing field. Businesses you have never heard of before have become household names in only a few short years. Think about it. Have you ever heard of Amazon, eBay, Yahoo, or Napster a few years ago? Now, they are front page news on every newspaper every single day. 

Fortunes are being made and lost in a single year online. As a matter of fact, there have been more millionaires created in the past 2 years than in the last 200 combined. This new market is still wide open and it is up for grabs to those with the ambition, guts, and speed to take control of it.

The Internet is wide open to you and your business. While the major corporations throw millions of dollars at billboards and TV ads trying to gain the eyeballs of the average population, you can quickly and easily corner a very specialized niche market of your own.

Here are a few ways you can produce immediate breakthroughs at your web sites. Below are thirteen strategies that can and will produce an immediate increase in profits in your web business.

If you are just getting started in your own business, then take the following as an introduction to a profitable web business. Take notes and give yourself ideas you will be able to add into your web site later on in the growth process.

1. Design a High Quality Web Site

The biggest mistake that I see 95% of small business webmasters making is in the area of designing their web site. There are two primary mistakes that I see made over and over again.

The first mistake is to focus so much on the web site design and graphics that they overwhelm the actual product itself. A gorgeous web site is created using Flash, Real Audio, Real Video, etc. but it is never tested to be effective or not. In my own tests, I have found that a simple professional looking site produces the best results...without all the bells and whistles. 

The second major mistake that webmasters make is to use the wrong tools to design their site in the first place...and they end up with a very unprofessional looking site. The real idea of the web site design process is to produce something that looks professional, but that doesn’t draw away from the text. The key to your web site is have all images and graphics focus your visitors back to your advertising message.

2. Automate Your Email Follow-Up

The key to selling online or selling anywhere for that matter is to follow up with your prospects at least 7 times. You cannot rely on just one visit to your web site to cut the mustard. The biggest profit producing strategy I ever came up with was to start working on getting people to subscribe or opt-in to an email follow-up list by giving them a free training series on my subject.

The easiest tool to use for email follow-up is from Postmaster Online which you can go to from http://www.postmasteronline.com/home/10683/

They give you 50 autoresponders which automatically follow-up, a complete database system to track all of your prospects and customers, a contact system, and more. It is the best tool I have found to help you increase your Internet response rates immediately.

3. Start an Opt-In Email List

Even with all of my advertising, web site traffic, and promotions, over 50% of my income still comes in through my opt-in email list which I send out almost every week. Starting your own opt-in list is the key to long-term Internet profits. Just like in direct mail, the profit is in the list. Build your list.

The best strategy to handle your email list is to use the Postmaster Online system from above. It can give you a personalized ezine (if you are collecting names with your email addresses) and can handle all of the removes, unsubscribes, and undeliverables for you.

4. Place a Sponsor or Solo Ad in Ezines

People are always asking me the quickest way to build traffic to their sites. Search Engines usually take a while, banner ads are expensive, and offline advertising takes months. The quickest, lowest cost, and most effective form of online advertising is placing sponsorships and solo ads in ezines and online newsletters.

Nothing else will even come close to the results which you can produce through this method. You can purchase sponsorships and solo ads for $100 to $1000 and often produce results of three to ten times the ad costs if you have an effective ad for the appropriate audience. There isn’t anywhere else in the world that you can get this kind of bang for your buck when it comes to spending money on your marketing.

5. Use a Pay-Per-Click Search Engine

Regular search engines take months to get positions in and start bringing the traffic (although you can pay Yahoo’s special fee of $199 to get in there quicker). The way to get traffic immediately from the search engines is to start dealing with the pay-per-click search engines such as Goto.com

Goto.com allows you to set up an account and then you only pay a set fee (almost in an auction model) for each visitor to your site. If you bid one penny per visitor, then you only have to pay a single penny for every visitor to your site. If you bid ten cents, you pay ten cents. If you have tested and can bid a dollar per visitor, then that is what you will pay. How much you pay for traffic is up to you.

There are now several hundred search engines following this model. Most of them don’t produce nearly as much traffic as Goto.com, but some of them can be used once you have proven the effectiveness of your keywords at Goto.com first.

6. Participate in Online Schmoozing

Beginning marketers online are always looking for the best free advertising methods, but as the years go by, more and more of these methods are disappearing. The quickest free advertising method available to start participating in online newsgroups, mailing lists, and forums. 

You don’t directly advertise in any of these groups. You participate in the discussions and allow your small signature file to appear at the bottom of the messages you post. If you post good comments and participate in the discussions, then you will quickly build a good reputation and will generate traffic and sales at your web site.

7. Make a Special Offer

If you have built up an opt-in email list (as in number two above), then you can run a special members only sale or special offer. Only current members will get these discount prices or an added bonus that you can create or purchase wholesale. 

You could also do a customer’s only sale. Send out an email to everyone who has purchased something from you in the past offering them a new special product at a discount price or other bonuses added to current products you sell. Nothing will produce 
income faster for a business than to contact their previous customers with a special offer. 

8. Create a Point-Of-Sale Upsell

This technique can usually increase your web site profits by 10% to 20% immediately the moment you put it in place. It is also very simple to put in place. Once someone orders a product from you, have the thank you page on your web site which comes up show several other products or services that you have available for immediate purchase at a special discounted price.

You will find that often 10% to 25% of your customers will immediately take this opportunity to purchase the other product at the special price (maybe 10% off or something similar). 

Stores use this idea all the time. Look at all the small items like magazines, candy, etc. that they pack at the checkout counters. How often do you pick up something else you didn’t need just because it was there and you were already in a buying mood?

9. Set Up an Affiliate Program

The king of affiliate programs is Amazon with their group of over 300,000 affiliates. While you don’t want or need this large of a number to be successful, think about what it would be like to have 1,000 to 5,000 people eagerly selling your products and services for you with a small share of the profits. 

If you don't want to have to deal with any CGI script of any software to run the affiliate program, then you can have it outsourced. Companies such as Clickbank not only take orders for electronic products, but they will also run your affiliate program for you. Many of the other online processing services are now following their example.

10. Spread a Virus

If you haven’t heard of viral marketing yet, then you must have been hiding in a cave somewhere. For many, it is considered the ultimate online marketing technique. How else would a company such as Hotmail.com grow to over 40 million users while spending next to nothing in ad costs? ICQ quickly spread itself around the Internet without having an ad budget. 

Viral marketing basically entails created something for free that others will pass around for you. It could be as simple as a free report or a free ebook, or as complicated as creating a unique software program to be passed around.

11. Send an Online Press Release

The quickest way to generate ten thousand hits or more immediately to your web site at very little cost is to send out an online press release. All it takes is one mention in a newspaper, magazine, radio program, or TV show to drive more traffic to your site in the next 24 hours than you will through all of your other promotions for the next month.

Successful entrepreneurs make it a habit to regularly send out press releases about any new benefits that they offer to their customers. This used to be cost prohibitive through the cost of postal mail and long distance faxing. Now, you can send out the press releases by email or pay only $200 or so to have them sent out for you. Two hundred dollars could never buy you a write-up in a magazine, but a press release could potentially give you dozens.

12. Send Out Articles to Ezines

Here is another zero cost strategy for selling your products or services. Write up a good article with valuable information in it (you could even use our simple article writing strategy) and submit it to the ezines in your niche market. If your article is well done, you will find that much of the time it will be the featured article in many of them. 

This is better than having a featured ad in an ezine (and you know how I feel about those)!

13. Start an eBay Auction

This idea won’t work for every business, but it could be a significant source of income and traffic for your web site. Over 40,000 powersellers currently sell $2,000 or more per month on eBay (all the way up to $500,000 a month for a few of them). All you have to do is go over to eBay and find out what products are HOT sellers...If yours is one of the hot topics, then you could have a built in money and traffic generator for your site at almost no cost whatsoever...

Are You Neglecting 70% to 90% of Your Internet Profits

At the very beginning of this article, I want to tell you about a horrible mistake I have been making lately. I have been neglecting the place where 70% - 90% of most Internet profits come from.

I would normally keep a mistake like this to myself, but I also recognize that probably 9 out of every 10 of my readers are making the exact same mistake. This just shouldn't be happening.

My business is extremely profitable, but by neglecting this one technique I have been ignoring tens of thousands of dollars in additional profits.

The direct marketing rule that I been neglecting to give attention to lately is that of backend selling. I know and have taught backend selling to thousands of Internet businesses, but in the past 6 months of my own business I have been letting it slide.

For my business this means that I am ignoring additional profit centers. For many Internet businesses which aren't as profitable as mine this one mistake could easily spell the death of their entire endeavor.

To give you a quick idea of just how profitable backend selling can be for your business, let's give the following example.

Let's say you are in an information business selling a low cost audio tape set and a larger video package. The first product you have sells for $50.00 (and costs $25.00 for drop shipping from the owner) while your second package sells for $300.00 (and costs $150.00 drop shipping from the owner).

If the first product you sell to customers sells for $50.00 and costs you $25.00 to fulfill, you have $25.00 potential earnings from it where you have to pay advertising expenses from. If it costs you on average $20.00 advertising expense for each new customer, you would only be earning a $5.00 profit on every new customer.

What would happen if you included a sales letter for your $300.00 course in every $50.00 package people bought?

If 1 out of every 5 customers you brought in on the first product would also buy your second product for $300.00, you would be earning an extra $150.00 off of every 5 customers. Your front end profits would have been $25.00 for these 5 customers and your backend profits would have been $150.00 without spending more than a couple of cents extra for the sales letter included in the packages.

You would only be earning $25.00 a day in your startup Internet business is you were selling 5 packages a day. Once you add in your backend product, your profits jump up to $175.00 a day!

For many businesses, having a backend product determines whether your business succeeds or not. You must have a specific backend in mind whenever you are planning your web site, choosing a product, or designing a product.

On the Internet, it is so easy to come up with backend products! If you don't own any additional products or services to place on a backend, then you can simply join an affiliate program with a high quality product or find a business owner who will drop ship products for you.

There are thousands of companies out there which have affiliate programs or who drop ship for you. All you have to do is search for "drop shipping" or "affiliate" and thousands upon thousands of sites will come up.

If you see someone who has a product you would like to sell, see if they will set up a drop shipping program just for you. This type would often end up being the most profitable for you since you wouldn't be competing with thousands of other affiliates.

The key to backend profits in your business is to actually start doing something. So, I have included 4 easy ways your Internet business can start profiting from backend selling today!

4 Ways ANY Internet Business Can Easily Start Making Backend Sales Immediately...

1. Point of Purchase

The absolute best point for a backend offer on any sale is right after the initial sale while the customer still has their credit card out. For example, whenever I go buy a pair of shoes it always seems like once you have the shoes picked out the salesperson will then ask you if you would like laces, polish, etc.

If you go buy a suit, then they ask if you would like dress shirts, ties, etc. Any smart retailer will figure out what other products they have that naturally go with the purchases most often being made. Then, they will offer an up-sell immediately at the point of sale.

How can you apply this to your Internet business? The easiest method and the most profitable is to offer the up-sell right after your customer has made their purchase and still has their credit card out. In other words, put the additional product or products on the thank you page right after the purchase is made through your secure order forms.

At that point, your customer has their credit card out and is in a buying mood. By listing one to three similar products on this page, you should be able to increase your overall sales by 10% - 30% immediately.

2. With Product Delivery

The second key time to send a backend offer is when the products are shipped. Wise marketers throw in a catalog of other products and services they offer with every order.

Possibly offer a 30 day special coupon in the package. If they order something else from you within thirty days they get $10.00 off or 10% off or something similar to this. Just remember that there has to be some incentive to ordering now.

If you have someone else fulfilling the order for you by drop shipping out the products, then just send out your own thank you letter with the backend offer enclosed.

3. Follow-up

You should send out follow-up sales letters to all of your current customers. Top direct marketers report that it is 7 times as easy to sell to an existing customer than it is to develop a new one. Put the odds to work for you instead of against you and start selling more to your current customers.

The correct time to send out this letter depends on what you sell. If you sell a consumable product such as food, nutritional, body care, etc., then you send out the letter whenever the average customer will run out of the current supply.

If you sell other types of products, then the correct time will often be around every 3 months. Newsletter publishers will often advertise a new product in each new issue of the publication that goes out. It all depends on your products and your customers. Learn the correct time frame for sending out letters based on testing.

4. Leads that Don't Buy From You.

Here is an area that most Internet marketers don't even consider, but it could quickly become a new profit center for your business. What do you do with those leads who contact you but don't end up buying?

In most businesses, they just throw them away. The smart marketer who wants to get maximum profit out of every second of their time and out of every dollar they spend will put these leads to use also.

They are obviously interested in what you are selling since something you had caused them to originally contact you for more information. They didn't want to buy your product, but what if you offer another similar product or service to them instead once you have finished your regular follow-up system for your main product.

This is definitely an area that you need to start testing out. You could also try working with another marketer who sells a similar product and work out a lead trade. You will offer your product to his leads that weren't sold and he will offer his to your leads you couldn't sell. Since the cost of follow-up online is virtually nothing, this type of additional profit center is definitely something every business should look into.

The question I am going to ask you is, "Are You Going to Leave 70% - 90% Of Your Profits Behind?"

Whether you're a JV master or have never tried joint ventures before, these 3 easy JV methods will help you expand your business, make more money, and increase your publicity with minimal effort:

1. PROMOTE YOUR PRODUCT(S) IN OTHER PEOPLE'S EZINES.

One of the best and fastest ways to make money with this JV technique is to ask ezine publishers to review your product, and to do a special mailing endorsing it to their subscribers if they like what you have to offer. Just make sure that the audience is VERY targeted to your product, or this technique is useless.

It's best to offer them a percentage of your profits generated from those sales as "payment" for endorsing your product to their readers. Even if you offer them 60%, and you only take 40%, you'll still be coming out ahead. Why? Because, in addition to the money, you've also added dozens or even HUNDREDS of new customers to your customer list. 2. PROMOTE OTHER PEOPLE'S PRODUCTS IN YOUR EZINE, OR ON YOUR WEBSITE.

If you don't have your own product, approach people that do, and ask if YOU can endorse their product in YOUR ezine. If you don't have an ezine, you can put links up on your website for their product. If you get lots of traffic to your site, this can be a very attractive deal for the other marketer. Just make sure to work out the terms of your agreement thoroughly beforehand, and be sure that you're getting a fair commission from each sale.

3. ARRANGE JOINT VENTURES BETWEEN COMPATIBLE PARTIES.

This one will work for you even if you DON'T have a website or ezine. Your job would be to find ezine publishers that have a relatively large subscriber base that trusts the publisher's recommendations. Ask the publisher if they'd like you to arrange joint ventures for them, which will involve running endorsement mailings in their ezine for someone else's products, for a good share of the profits.

Find someone with a product that would be useful to subscribers of that publisher's ezine, after first checking it out yourself. Then, introduce the product to the ezine publisher to see if they'd like to endorse it. If so, work out the profits 3 ways, between you, (the organizer), the publisher, and the product creator or author.

If the publisher decides that the product is NOT something that they'd like to endorse for whatever reason, and you're sure it's a quality product, just introduce the product again to the other publishers that you've contacted to set up JV partnerships for. You'll find a few of them that will be interested in endorsing the product to their subscribers, meaning more profit for you, the publisher, and the product author.

CONCLUSION

Arranging joint ventures is just that easy. It takes time, but it's worth it in the long run. You end up with more customers, more money, and less expense, as joint venturing is usually FREE! And even better, you can make a profit in as little as a few days to just a few MINUTES from when you initiate the partnership.

Don't limit yourself to trying just one of the JV methods above. The more methods you try, the more money you make. The more positive relationships you form, the more successful you are. 6. Don't call someone by a nickname unless they first give you permission to do so. If my name is Suzanne, I probably don't want someone I just met calling me "Sue." If my name is William, I don't necessarily want to be called "Billy-Bob" unless I've already accepted you as my friend. All in all, stay safe and call people by their full names unless they ask otherwise.
 

7. No matter how many times you sprinkle your reader's personal info throughout your message, if it's too long, it simply won't get read. If it's an e-mail, try to stay under 3 - 4k. If it's an ezine, 20 - 25K is a good stopping point.

I cringe when I see other entrepreneurs consistently writing e-mails and replies that are 10k and over! An occasional 5-6k message might be okay if you have a lot of information to get across on the same topic, but a continuous "ezine length" e-mail ISN'T very likely to get read!
 

8. When using names, email addresses, street addresses, or whatever kind of personalization you decide on ... be sure to SPELL IT RIGHT! You're defeating the purpose of this strong, money-making marketing tool when you address me, (Ms. Major), as "Mr. Majors." Not only that, it's downright tacky. It shows people that you couldn't care less about them OR their name, as long as you're making your money!

So, sit up and pay attention. It only takes a few seconds to check to make sure you're getting it right. If you don't have that long, you should think about finding another profession. One that DOESN'T require any person-to-person interaction.
 

BONUS: When using personalization, DON'T OVERDO IT. If a reader finds their name throughout your ezine in every other sentence, it becomes unnatural -- and annoying. Use personalization sparingly, and just enough to be effective. Overuse is worse than NOT using it at all.
 

In closing ...

You may just want to throw up your hands in total frustration and quit!

It doesn't have to be like this. Yes, there are a lot of things to learn. There are hundreds of techniques and strategies which work to build an online business.

You don't have to know all of them to get started. If you wait till you have everything all lined up to get started, then you will never get moving in the first place.

I have been doing this for 4 years now and still learn new techniques every month. Another one of my tests will out pull the first one. A different design makes more sales than the one before it.

If anybody has made mistakes in this business, it is I. You have to keep a constant learning attitude on the Internet because it is moving and changing at the speed of light.

You have to get started though. So, I am going to give you my simple three step profit system to getting started quickly and easily.

This system will work for any product or service. It will work for any type of Internet business.

It is also the number one best strategy for any member of an affiliate program.

It is easier to earn money with your own product or service, but if you follow this system religiously you can earn money in virtually any honest affiliate program.

Step One: Create An Automated Email Follow-Up System

Ninety-nine percent of visitors will not buy from your web site on their first visit. They won't even do it on their second visit or contact. To sell the maximum number of prospects, you must contact them over and over again.

The only way to do this is to get them to opt-in to an email list as soon as possible in the contact sequence (opt-in simply means that they ask for you to email them on a certain topic).

Create a series of free reports or an online email course if you would like to call it that on your subject. Don't just set up a serious of sales letters. That doesn't work as effectively anymore.

Give them good valuable information on the subject. If you do self defense training, do a whole series of articles on simple techniques or how to avoid confrontations alltogether.

If you setup merchant accounts, do the series on how to avoid charge backs. If you sell search engine services, do the series on how to get a top 20 position on the search engines.

Create a series of 7 to 10 simple letters or articles. Also, remember to include several sales letters throughout the series of letters. For example, if you do 7 training letters, have 3 sales letters for your product (although they don't have to be separate letters).

There has to be this fine mixture of good information along with ad copy for the best results. Too much ad copy and you lose your credibility. Not enough ad copy and you lose the sale.

Step Two: Generate Leads For Your System

Once you have your email system in place, you have to get traffic to it. The quickest and easiest way to consistently generate leads for your system is to place sponsor ads and solo ads in ezines.

Classified ads are beginning to lose their effectiveness in ezines. They just don't have the pull they once had. You need to purchase a solo ad that runs by itself or a sponsorship ad that runs at the top of the newsletter.

Which ezines should you place ads in? You should ONLY place ads in ezines that you regularly pick up and read for your niche market. If it isn't good enoughfor you to read, then it isn't good enough for your customers to read.

Another technique that is even more effective, but doesn't guarantee you the audience is to write articles for submission to the ezines. If you have written the informative reports or course as directed above in step one, then you should already have the material available for this.

Submit your article with a small resource box at the bottom advertising your free report series. Send it out to hundreds of ezines in your field with a top note that they can use it without charge.

This is by far the most effective 100% free type of advertising available online. There is nothing that even comes close to results produced by doing this.

Step Three: Send a Newsletter

Your email machine created in step one should now be creating sales for you consistently (if you are feeding it the leads it needs to survive).

The next step is to create a residual income through these prospects. Don't just let all the prospects you collected fall through the cracks.

Start sending them a regular ezine on your niche subject. Send it out weekly, twice monthly, or monthly at whatever schedule you can consistently handle.

Include quality information in each issue along with a few blurbs about your products or services.

You will be able to keep in contact with your prospects and customers long term through your newsletter...and continually sell to them over and over again.

One prospect that may have only been worth $29.95 to you in an initial sale could end up buying $1,000 or more in additional profits long term.

As a matter of fact, I have some customers that are worth multiplied thousands of dollars to my business. What if I hadn't kept in contact with them?

Once you figure out what the lifetime value of a customer is, you will be more willing to go after them and get them into your email funnel as soon as possible.

An average customer could cost you $30 in ad costs to produce in an affiliate program which paid $30 commission, and you still will come out ahead. All of the prospects who didn't buy and the customers who did would now be on your newsletter list (except for those who unsubscribed from your series of letters).

These newsletter members will go on to produce an income for you from now on in other affiliate programs you are a member of or with other products you introduce.

Two of the tools that makes this process easy to accomplish are produced by Online Automation. Other companies do have tools available to accomplish my system, but Online Automation currently has the best products...in my opinion.

The advantages of the online version are that it is a little lower cost upfront, can autorespond immediately (you must be online for the Postmaster software to autorespond), and is a little easier to learn.

The Truth About Earning $1,000 or More Weekly From Affiliate Programs

Everyone is talking about them. Almost everyone is a member of at least a few of them. Affiliate programs are hot. You can usually sign up for free and be selling products within 5 minutes. The web sites, sales letters, and order shipping are all done for you. All you have to do is promote.

But...Is anyone making money from these programs except for the affiliate program owner?

It is a surprising statistic when you find out that only around 10% to 20% of affiliate members do enough to ever get a check. Then, only a small percentage of those go on to earn really good incomes from affiliate programs.

It isn't the affiliate program either. Although some affiliate programs have pitifully small payouts (5% to 10%) and limit their members that way, the real problem comes with the fact that affiliates have no idea how to sell from their affiliate sites. The affiliate owners usually don't have any idea how to help them either.

I own several affiliate programs myself, so I have spent a considerable amount of time studying my top affiliates and the top affiliates in programs all over the Internet.

The principles below are true of almost everyone of the top affiliates in every program I have looked at. If you want to succeed and earn at least $5,000 or more per month from affiliate programs, then you will have to be following the five steps below. If you don't, it just isn't going to happen...and you have no one to blame but yourself.

1. Create Your Own Web Site.

Although almost every program gives you a web site to use to promote with, you really shouldn't be promoting with that site. The top affiliates always have their own web sites which they promote from. Then, they link to the affiliate program sites.

I never drive traffic directly to any of the affiliate programs. I drive it to my site, get their name on my opt-in list, and then promote affiliate programs. If you are serious about earning profits online, then you will do the same.

Having your own site and linking to your affiliate program gives you some additional advantages as well:

* You can write up a short two to four paragraph endorsement and testimonial for the site yourself.

* You can generate subscribers to your opt-in list first (this is the key to Internet profits).

* If the affiliate program ever stops or changes your link, you still have all the traffic you worked for at YOUR site (this happens quite often).

If you don't currently have a web site, but want to earn through affiliate programs, you need to get one today.

2. Generate Traffic

You can't earn a single penny in any affiliate program without generating traffic to your site. No traffic equals no income. Combine the right ingredients of an opt-in list, good site design, and the right sales offer...and your income will be directly proportional to the targeted traffic you generate.

An advantage that I didn't mention above in why you should own your own domain is getting listed with the search engines. The pages given to you by your affiliate program owner aren't going to receive virtually any traffic from the search engines. They won't have top rankings because there are at least 1,000 other pages just like them (from the other affiliate members) and many software programs create pages which can't even be indexed by the search engines.

Having your own domain will give you the freedom to create web pages which achieve high rankings on the search engines. Each of the major search engines such as AltaVista, Infoseek, Hotbot, and the others have their own ranking algorithms which change virtually monthly.

You can stay on top of them though by using a program such as Web Position which actually monitors the search engines for you and helps you prepare doorway pages which will achieve the top rankings you are seeking after...and the traffic which comes from having those top rankings.

Search engines are not the only way to build traffic to your site. You can trade links with sites, place free and paid classifieds, and even use banner advertising. There are dozens of ways to generate traffic. If you want to make money from your affiliate programs, you will be using them.

3. Start an Opt-In List.

I checked my affiliate members' checks this month and noticed a very interesting trend. All top 10 affiliates have their own opt-in email lists and are pretty aggressive marketers to those lists. They all mail to their opt-in list at least weekly and the number one affiliate this month mails to his list every single day.

That is where my income is coming from also. Over 90% of my income comes through using opt-in email in one way or another...either through my newsletters or through my autoresponders with follow-up. If you don't know how to use email, then your always going to be living on barely get by street in the online market.

The web sites which I send the most traffic to have one purpose to them...and one purpose only...to sign them up on my newsletter lists. All of the content that I have on my site is for that one purpose.

If you can't get a visitor to sign up for a free newsletter, then you aren't going to be able to get them to fill out your order forms and order. Get them on the list, and then start emailing them as often as you can put out good content (along with the ads).

Although I prefer to personalize my newsletter using software you have to buy (I get mine from Postmaster Online). If you are just starting out and are on a budget, you can start your list using a free Listbot from http://www.listbot.com

4. Develop a Unique Web Position.

Here is a trick to increase your sales from ANY affiliate program, but people rarely ever mention it. Any successful web site finds a way to make their products and or services unique from their competition.

When you are an affiliate though, you have thousands of competitors selling the exact same product at the exact same price. Every other affiliate in that company is your competition!

You will have to become unique if you want to beat the other affiliates competing against you. You may think it would be difficult to do, but it isn't.

All you have to do is add on some extra bonuses to those people who are purchasing from you. For example, if you're an affiliate for a video course, then add in a special free report on the same subject which is ONLY good for those who order from you. Your free report can be emailed to those who order so it won't cost you a penny of your commissions.

If you own an opt-in list like you should, you could give a free ad to anyone who orders an affiliate product from you. For example, you could write that anyone who orders the ________ (you would list the product here) before midnight tonight will also get a free ad ($30 value) in your newsletter...or three free ads. Buy submission software and submit their site to 1,000 search engines if they order today.

Do something like this and tell your opt-in email list subscribers and web site visitors about it. You will be setting yourself apart from the competition and be giving your purchasers an even better deal than buying from the affiliate owner!

Special limited time offers work extremely effectively when combined with your own opt-in list.

5. Generate Multiple Streams of Income.

If you follow all four of the principles above, then you are going to be able to earn money from many different affiliates programs, and that is exactly what you should do. You should join several non-competing programs which sell products to the same targeted market.

For example, if you have chosen to sell to Internet marketers, you may join:

  • An Internet Training Program
  • A Web Hosting Program
  • An Autoresponder program
  • A Business Opportunity
You can find several programs which target any specific niche group.

You can be earning 3 to 10 streams of income from the same visitors at your web site and subscribers to your newsletters. Having several streams of income helps every visitor to your site be worth more money to you!
