8 Easy Steps to DOUBLING Your Online Profits By Next Month!
© 2000, by Harmony Major

Everyone wants to make REAL money online. Now, with this easy to follow strategy, you can. Be sure not to skip any steps, and if all goes well, you'll be well on your way to doubling your online business income every month ... hopefully by next month!

1. Find a high-profit product or service to sell.

You want to find a product that makes you at least $25 in net profit per sale. Even though you can promote your own lower profit product (if you have one), in order to create the highest income in the least amount of time, it's best to start out with a higher-profit product.

2. Make a list of 20 ezines in your niche with 1,500 subscribers or more.

I don't need to tell you to target the ezines as much as you can and only consider opt-in lists. You're smart; you know that.

You won't be using all of these ezines now, but having the list ready will save you eons of time later on. You'll be following this plan over and over, and don't want to waste time hunting for quality ezines every time you implement it.

By the way, you want to make a list of larger circulation ezines (1,500 or more) for the fastest and highest response to your ad.

3. Place 10 top sponsor ads in 10 of the ezines on your list.

Choose 10 of your list of 20 ezines to advertise in this time around. If you have a strict ad budget, keep that in mind when deciding which to use first. Place as many ads in the higher circulation OR the most targeted ezines that you can afford.

For more information on how to choose the BEST ezines for your advertising dollars, read the article available by autoresponder here: mailto:FAT@homebasedheaven.com

4. Stick with ezines that are published frequently -- but not TOO frequently.

I've found that most daily ezines with a similar circulation as less frequently published ezines actually generate LESS of a response. This seems to be because, if readers get a certain ezine every day, they generally pay less attention to the ads. On the other hand, if readers are forced to wait every two weeks for their favorite ezine, they'll likely savor each issue -- right down to the last drop! (Oops, I mean the last ad.) ;-)

So, for this plan, try to advertise in ezines that aren't published any more than once a week. Even though there are exceptions, it's best to stick to this strategy initially.

5. Calculate your 'cost' per sale.

Let's say a sponsor ad in ezine #1 costs $100. Divide the cost of the ad ($100) by the number of sales generated from that ad (10) to get your 'cost' per sale ($10). Each sale generated from ezine #1 cost you $10.

Now, let's say a sponsor ad in ezine #2 cost only $85. Divide the cost of the ad ($85) by the number of sales generated from that ad (3) to get your "cost" per sale ($28.33). OUCH! Each sale generated from ezine #2 cost you $28.33!

Do this for each of your 10 ezine ads that ran this month.

6. Calculate the return on investment from each ad.

I know, I know. This isn't Algebra! Don't worry, we'll only be doing a few more minor calculations. ;-)

Even though the ad in ezine #2 APPEARS to have cost less, you actually paid a heck of a lot MORE for each sale it generated. Assuming your product only nets you the bare minimum of $25 per sale, you actually LOST money on the ad placed in ezine #2.
[($25 x 3) = $75 (- $85) = -10!]

Ezine #1 was clearly a better investment. Although that ad required a larger up-front investment than ezine #2, your cost per sale was lower, and your profit was higher!
[($25 x 10) = $250 (- $100) = $150 PROFIT]

7. Remove the five ezines that generated the least profit, and replace those with five new ezines from your list of twenty.

As soon as all your ads have run and you've calculated the profit from each, place your ad again in the five ezines that generated the highest return on investment, and throw out the other five. Replace those with five new ezines from your list of twenty, and repeat the ad placement process.

NOTE: Use THE SAME AD in all of the ezines, ESPECIALLY the five that initially brought you the highest return on investment. Run that ad in those five ezines until your response begins to wane. Then and ONLY then, tweak the ad to enhance your response.

8. Re-invest your profit into more advertising!

Every month, use 50% of last month's ad profits for placing MORE ads. You don't have to use the money for ezine advertising, but why change what's already working? As long as you remember to re-invest 50% of your profits each month into more advertising, your profits will continue to climb.

Think of it this way: The more you spend, the more you MAKE! Just be sure to use a system similar to this one, so you're constantly tracking your responses, calculating your return on investment, and spending that money on advertising that you KNOW will work.

In conclusion...

Seems TOO easy to work, doesn't it? Think again. Sometimes the most effective means of promotion are the easiest to carry out, and are right under our noses. A lot of excellent, money-making promotional methods are commonly overlooked for that reason. Don't let this one pass you by! Use it, use it again, then use it some more.

This works!

Create Your Own Ezine Traffic Machine
By Terry Dean

How would you like to reach a couple of million people with your products and services...for FREE?

That is exactly what occurs when you start writing articles and submitting them to hundreds of ezines. Currently there are tens of thousands of ezine publishers online and almost all of them have one thing in common. They are all looking for good content to publish in their newsletter.

If you have good content (not a sales letter cloaked as an article), then you can be their savior. You can give them exactly what they need. Then, they will give you what you need in exchange. They will give you exposure for your business.

Every article comes with a resource box attached at the end of it. While your article should not be an effort to promote your business, your 4 to 6 line resource box should be an outright ad for you and your business. You are free to advertise your web site, your products, your services, or any affiliate program that you are a member of.

You may say to me that you are not a writer. Well, that just doesn’tmatter. What do you know about your industry? I am sure there is something you know. The writing style online is not that of English professors. The best explanation of what is popular in the online world would be to define it as a "down home" style of writing.

Since the technology we are all using seems so impersonal, your readers are seeking someone who is real. You can write in a conversational tone. Below is a quick step-by step system to writing your first article.

1. Decide on a topic.

You want to choose a hot online topic. What are people talking about on the news, in discussion boards, and in ezines that you are receiving. Look at the articles from some of the magazines in your industry to gauge where people’s interest is at. You want to make sure that your article is covering a subject people are excited about.

2. Create a Title.

The title will make or break your article. A title for an article is just as important as a headline for an ad. If your title doesn’t grab people’s attention they will never read the rest of the article. If they don’t read the article, they won’t see your resource box. Write a minimum of 10 - 20 titles and then let your family or friends pick the most interesting one to use in your article.

3. Write 3 - 5 Major Points.

The key to making your writing easy is dividing up the content. Through creating these main points you can also establish a flow to the article. Using a step-by-step system will also help you stay organized in your mind .

4. Decide on the number of words...probably around 500 for ezine articles.

Most ezines publish shorter articles than what you see in magazines. The best number to plan for is to create articles that are around 500 words in length although some ezines may ask for a little bit longer of articles.

5. Divide up the number of words and create each section individually.

If you have 5 points, each one only gets 100 words. Once you add on a short introduction and a short conclusion, then you are at about 80 - 90 words per section. If you have 3 points, then each section will have around 150 words plus an introduction and conclusion. It is easier to get started when you think of it like this. You don’t have to write 500 words. You need to write 150 words.

6. Create Your Resource Box.

Give your contact info such as your name, email address, and web site. Then, give one or two benefit phrases, headlines you could say, along with web site links. You will receive your absolute best results if the benefit phrases coincide with the article you have just written.

7. Edit it.

Take a step back after you have written and prepared your article. Sleep on it. Come back to your article the next day and edit it. Rephrase sections that you can make better. Do a spellcheck. It is amazing what a short rest will do for the creative process.

8. Email it to ezine publishers with a short cover letter.

Find a large section of ezine publishers with their name and contact emails. Send it to them with a short personalized cover paragraph at the top. Personalization is a major key since most ezine publishers receive hundreds of these emails every day. You need to make your emails stand out of the crowd...

To find ezine publisher addresses, use databases such as: http://www.homeincome.com/search-it/ezine/

Also, pick up the names and email addresses of any publishers you currently receive mail from.

Fool-Proof Advertising Tactics to Save You Time AND Money
© 1999, by Harmony Major

There are several ways in which F.A.T. can save you time and money. What? No, I don't mean the cellulite on the backs of your thighs, I mean "Foolproof Advertising Techniques" -- in ezines.

Whatever you're trying to promote online, ezine advertising is *definitely* one of the most effective ways to do it. But, you have to make sure that you're doing it right, or it'll flop ... just like any other poorly executed advertising campaign. But, before we get down to the nitty-gritty of ezine advertising, let's answer two of the most common questions

1. Why advertise in ezines?

Ezines are one of the best forms of advertising because of your ability to target who YOU want to read your ad. You don't have to hunt your prospects down -- all you have to do is make sure you target your market correctly. When I say "target," I mean to make sure that the people that you're showing your ad to have a DEFINITE interest in whatever you're advertising.

For example, advertising your website design service in a Web design ezine is *good.* You know that Webmasters reading that ezine are looking for ways to clean up their website, or their design skills. However, advertising your website design service in a business opportunity ezine is *bad.* Sure, some of the opportunity-seekers MIGHT have a website, and they MIGHT be looking for someone to design it for them ... but why take the chance?

Ezine advertising is also one of the FASTEST ways to get results. Within minutes of subscribers reading your ad, you can be making more sales, getting more traffic to your website, or getting new subscribers to YOUR ezine. Whatever your goal is by placing your ad, it can be accomplished almost instantly.

2. What kind of advertising budget do you need to advertise in ezines?

This varies. An ezine ad can cost as much as $275 an issue .. or as little as nothing. There are a lot of ways to get free ads in ezines -- you've just got to be a bit creative. But, for best results, DON'T expect much from advertising in ezines that offer free ads! Why? Because, these don't usually work! This means that the ezine publisher is either:

(a) Trying to build their subscriber database, which means that your ad won't get a lot of exposure anyway;

(b) Sending their ezine to a bunch of people that don't want it, like advertisers that posted to their FFA page; or

(c) Crazy! Why else would a publisher waste a chance to make a few honest dollars from selling their ad space?

So, now that you know the basics of advertising in ezines, let's go over *how* to pull it off!. The most important rule to follow to be sure that your ad campaign is a success is...

-> TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT EZINE!

If you skip this step, there's no point in advertising at all. This is the single most important aspect of ezine advertising, aside from targeting your market well and, (of course), writing a quality ad. To choose a quality ezine, you'll need to take all of the following into account:

(a) How many ads run in each issue?

If your ad is going to be competing with 20 or 30 others, it's not worth your time or your money. Your advertising dollars will get lost in the sea of advertisements -- just like your ad will. 10 to 15 ads should be the ABSOLUTE maximum number of ads you're willing to compete with, or you won't get any exposure.

(b) Where are the ads located?

If all of the ads are stuck at the very end of the ezine after all of the useful information, forget it. I know that this is the standard place for ezine ads, but it's also the most overlooked. If the ads are at the end of the ezine, make sure there's a reason for the subscriber to scroll down that far. Is there advertising info, a contest announcement, etc.? If there's nothing there but the copyright info and disclaimer, you're in trouble!

(c) How good is the actual ezine?

Before you advertise in a specific publication, request a sample issue. This is your last chance to make sure that you're targeting your prospects right, and to find out if the ezine is even worth the advertising dollars. If the ezine doesn't have any useful or interesting content, chances are, the subscriber won't be too eager to read it. And, they'll most likely skip right over your ad.

(d) How many subscribers do they have?

This one isn't as important as the others, but you still need to consider it. If the first three rules are followed, this one won't make or break your ad campaign -- but, be cautious! If the ezine has 650 subscribers, excellent content, features three ads per issue, and puts the ads close to the top, more than likely, it's going to be a good investment. Just make sure that ad space is reasonably priced. Likewise, if an ezine has 10,000 subscribers, features 40 ads an issue, they're all at the bottom, and the content leaves more than a little to be desired, your ad results probably will, too!

(e) Are there usually high-quality ads featured in the ezine?

If the editor of the ezine doesn't edit out things like spelling and grammatical errors, hype, and known scams, their subscribers probably skip right over the ad section. Careless errors make both the advertiser AND the publisher look bad, and readers may get annoyed by this carelessness, thus conditioning themselves to ignore those ads.

On the other hand, if subscribers have had positive experiences with the ads in a publication, and aren't given the impression that they're just a bunch of hype and scams, they're likely to continue to pay attention to them. This type of ezine is your BEST advertising choice.

(f) How can you get FREE ezine advertising?

The easiest and most common way to get free ads in ezines is to run ad swaps with other publishers. This is when you and another ezine publisher both offer to run each other's ad in your respective ezines at no cost. BUT, if you don't have an ezine, this method could create a problem. :-) In this situation, you would simply barter for a free ad.

You can offer the publisher a service or product of equal or *greater* value in exchange for his or her ad. For example, if you run a submission service that usually costs $45, and you barter with an ezine publisher that charges $35 per ad, they'll likely take you up on the offer. You may want to offer them that's a little more valuable than what you're asking of them. This makes your proposal more attractive, thus making them more likely to accept it.

If you follow these "Foolproof Advertising Techniques" for choosing a quality ezine, your ezine advertising campaign should ALWAYS be a success. Of course, it takes trial and error when writing an effective ad and choosing the most suitable ezine to run your ad in. But, as with every important skill -- practice makes perfect. And, in this case, "practice" will definitely help pay the bills. ;-)
